"The cuisine is wonderful, and you're made to feel welcome" at this showcase for the Goodwood Estate's crops, an early adopter of organic farming (although Lord March, the Duke of Richmond, is better known as a petrol-head). "They've renovated the courtyard into a gorgeous venue," and the 'butcher's board' sharing selection of several meat cuts is the highlight of the menu.

The White Horse

Current owners The Epicurean Collection - behind a number of boutique pubs and inns - have a hit on their hands with this award-winning venture: a "worthy addition to a region richly supplied with high-quality country pubs". The undulating South Downs outside the windows inspire much of the "imaginative menu," with a special emphasis on bringing non-shooters the game (the latter courtesy of the local Goodwood Estate).

Ed Collison, a sailor-turned-entrepreneur, opened his famous Emsworth yacht basin establishment in 2016 at the age of 21, selling anything from £4.50 bacon breakfast rolls to a splash-out seafood plate for two at £120. During the shutdown, he debuted a fleet of silver catering trucks, and in November 2021, he announced the opening of a new Deck branch at Gosport Marina, replacing the Boat House Café.
